Key benefits

  • Curved transfer board for easy transfers
  • Helps with seated transfers for those with limited mobility
  • Curved design to aid with manoeuverability
  • Ideal for car, bed, chair and toilet transfers

The Curved Transfer Board by Homecraft is a patient transfer board to help people with limited strength or mobility to move to a chair, wheelchair, car, toilet or bed.

With its curved shape, the Curved Board makes transfers easier, faster, and more comfortable for both patient and carer. The two non-slip pads on the bottom of the board ensure additional stability and safety.

Designed to bridge short gaps when performing seated transfers, the Curved Transfer Board facilitates the movement of patients with mobility issues.

The board's low friction upper surface allows the user to transfer independently or with assistance, and is especially useful when transferring between bed, wheelchair, shower chair and toilet. The two non-slip pads help to keep the board in place.

How to use the Curved Transfer Board?

The arc shape of the Curved Transfer Board not only enables a variety of positioning options, but also allows for the natural sweeping motion of an assisted transfer, helping prevent slips and falls.

This makes the slide transfer board ideal for car, bed, chair and toilet transfers, facilitating independence with safety.

Solid & Non-Slip Surface

For additional stability and security, this transfer board features two non-slip pads on the base of the board. This ensures the bottom of the board sticks to the surface and prevents any unwanted movement during the transfer.

Made from solid, reinforced plastic, the curved board is waterproof and resists chipping, shattering, and splintering.

Who benefits from the Curved Transfer Board?

The slide board transfer is a useful means for the patient to enjoy independence. Designed to bridge a gap between two surfaces, the Homecraft Curved Transfer Board also helps reduce the risk of injury and strain to the carer or healthcare professional who are assisting with the patient transfers.

The Transfer Board is easy to lift and position, helping to make the procedure of transferring a patient from one surface to another easier and safer.

Is a transfer slide board easy to use?

Lateral transfers pose a risk of injury to both the patient and the carer because the forces needed to complete the transfer are high.

The Homecraft Curved Transfer Board facilitates appropriate patient handling to reduce the risk of injuries and strain to the carer or hospital staff, including damage to muscles, ligaments, tendons, bursae and joints.

Using this Transfer Board reduces the risk for patient injuries including falls, fractures, bruises and skin tears.

Where can the Curved Transfer Board be used?

Ideal for a range of environments and situations, the Curved Transfer Board is particularly convenient for scenarios that require side-by-side sitting transfers, including:

  • Chair to wheelchair transfers
  • Wheelchair to bed transfers
  • Chair/ wheelchair transfer to toilet
  • Transferring patients who have difficulty weight-bearing
  • Can be used during MRI’s
