Pressure Care Cushions
Pressure care cushions spread the load under the seat bones so skin stays healthy during long periods of sitting. The range runs from everyday foam and silicone fibre cushions to gel and adjustable air cell cushions for people at higher risk of pressure injury.

Buying guide
- Measure the seat width and depth of the chair or wheelchair the cushion will sit in.
- Low risk: foam or fibre. Medium risk: gel or memory foam. High risk: air cell or contoured cushions.
- Check cover material – waterproof covers suit continence needs; stretch covers reduce shear.
- Confirm the maximum user weight.
Questions
Which cushion is right for me?
Your occupational therapist or nurse can assess pressure injury risk and recommend a cushion type. The product pages list thickness, cover and weight rating to help you compare, and our guide on matching pressure care to risk explains the levels.
Can I use funding to buy a cushion?
That depends on your plan and goals, so check with your plan manager, support coordinator or funding body before you buy. We supply a tax invoice listing the item and our ABN.
