About this product

Action 3 Lever Drive Wheelchair – One-Hand Propulsion, 410mm to 500mm Seat is an assistive technology product, rated to 125 kg. Sold online by Ability Warehouse, delivered Australia-wide.

The Action 3 is a folding steel wheelchair built for people who can only use one arm. Instead of pushing two handrims, you pump a single lever forward and back on your strong side; the lever also steers and, pulled back hard, brakes against the rear wheel. A gear lever switches between forward and reverse. It is a practical option after a stroke or for one-sided weakness where a powered chair is not wanted.

Why it works

Push-pull lever drive moves the chair with one hand, with no handrim to grip
Turning the lever steers, and pulling back against the wheel brakes – all with the same hand
Gear lever selects forward or reverse so you can back away from tables and doors
Drive unit is fitted to the left or right side to match the user's stronger arm
Swing-away removable legrests and swing-back desk arms make transfers and table access easier
Tension-adjustable backrest can be tuned for posture and comfort
Car-buckle seat belt and tie-down points for travel in a vehicle

Choosing a configuration

Order the drive on the side of the user's stronger arm – "Left" means the lever sits at the user's left hand. For seat width, measure hip width while seated and add about 25mm each side; 460mm suits most adults. Gross shipping weight is 20kg. An occupational therapist can confirm the user has the arm strength and trunk control for lever propulsion.

Returns

Unused products in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery with proof of purchase. A 25% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Hygiene items — incontinence, braces, toileting and personal care — cannot be returned once opened unless faulty. Faulty goods are covered by the Australian Consumer Law and our warranty at no cost.
