A straight rail is the workhorse of home modifications – beside the toilet, in the shower, along a hallway or next to a step. This one is 32mm marine-grade stainless steel with concealed fixings, and it comes in six lengths from a short 300mm grip to a 1200mm run.

Choosing a length
300mm and 450mm suit a single grip point beside a toilet or at a step. 600mm to 900mm are the usual choice for a shower wall where you want to hold on while moving. 1200mm suits a hallway or a long run beside a bath. The rail must be installed by a qualified tradesperson into solid fixing points.
