A slide sheet is the basic tool for moving someone up the bed, rolling them or sliding them across to a trolley without lifting. Folded in half and placed under the person, the two slippery nylon layers glide against each other so a small push or pull does the work. It is one of the cheapest ways to protect a carer's back.
Why it works
- Lets one or two carers reposition a person with a glide instead of a lift
- Cuts the risk of back strain and shoulder injury for carers
- Gentler on the person being moved – less skin friction and no grabbing under the arms
- Folds flat and weighs very little, so it can live in a bedside drawer
- Machine washable for repeated use

Using a slide sheet
Fold the sheet in half with the fold towards the direction of travel, roll the person slightly to tuck it under their shoulders and hips, then slide the top layer over the bottom layer. Always remove the sheet after the move so the person cannot slip while unattended. Ask an occupational therapist or nurse to demonstrate safe technique if you are new to slide sheets.

Returns
Unused products in their original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery with proof of purchase. A 25% restocking fee applies and return postage is at your cost. Hygiene items — incontinence, braces, toileting and personal care — cannot be returned once opened unless faulty. Faulty goods are covered by the Australian Consumer Law and our warranty at no cost.
