The Smik alternating pressure overlay sits on top of an existing mattress and uses a pump to inflate and deflate its air cells in turn, so no part of the body carries pressure for long. It is a complete system with the pump included, in the 700mm narrow width, and it suits people at significant risk of pressure injury who need more than a foam surface.
