Tap a number in the room
Each spot is an everyday task that can get harder: getting off the toilet, standing in the shower, getting out of bed. We'll show the products that help, and why.
1 Bathroom
Getting on and off the toilet Low toilets make sitting down and standing up hard on knees and hips. Raising the seat height or adding armrests gives you something to push up from.
Tip Measure from the floor to the top of the toilet bowl, then add the seat height. Most people find knee height easiest.

3 Bathroom
Something to hold onto Most bathroom falls happen moving between the toilet, shower and basin. A secure rail where you naturally reach makes every move steadier.
Tip Suction rails are great for renters and travel; test the grip indicator before every use.

4 Bathroom
Standing too long in the shower Sitting to shower saves energy and lowers the risk of a slip. Choose a stool for small showers or a chair with back and arms for more support.
Tip Check the shower recess width and the user's weight against the product's weight limit.

6 Bathroom
Getting in and out of the bath Stepping over a bath edge is one of the riskiest moves at home. A bath board or rail lets you sit, swing your legs over and lower yourself safely.
Tip Bath boards need a flat bath rim on both sides. Check the inside width of your bath.

1 Bedroom
Getting in and out of bed Pushing up from a soft mattress or swinging your legs over can be hard. A bed rail or pole gives a firm handhold; a leg lifter helps move your legs.
Tip Bed rails that slide under the mattress suit most beds. Check the mattress thickness.

1 Living room
Getting up from a chair Low, soft chairs are hard to push up from. A riser chair does the lifting; firm cushions and back supports make sitting easier on hips and back.
Tip Look for a seat height where your feet sit flat and knees are level with or slightly below your hips.

4 Entry & car
Going further: scooters and power chairs Folding scooters and power chairs bring back trips to the shops, park and beyond, and many fit in a car boot.
Tip Check the folded size against your boot and the user's weight against the weight limit.
