What is a long handle sponge?

The Long Handled Sponge from Homecraft is a bendable sponge, a practical tool that makes bathing easy. It is an excellent addition to independent bathing. If you are looking for some assistance to wash your back or other parts of the body you find difficult to reach, then our Long Handled Sponge by Homecraft is a very useful solution. No need to bend or twist!

Bendable wire of the sponge

The long handle sponge is attached to a 61 cm long plastic coated wire that is bendable and features an easy-grip handle. As the wire is coated in plastic, it won't irritate or harm your skin and remains free from rust. This allows the sponge to be reused for a long period of time. The wire can also be bent to any shape for those hard-to-reach places.

Ideal bathroom aid for those with limited mobility

If you have limited mobility or suffer from a spinal or back injury, the Long Handled Sponge has been designed for you. With its long handle, you don't have to bend down while using the sponge. Washing can also be completed in a seated position or while standing if you're able to do so.

Features of the long handle sponge:

  • Practical equipment for independent bathing
  • Reduces bending of the hip and knee
  • Bendable wire
  • Easy-grip handle, fits well in the hand
  • Absorbent sponge
  • Increases the user's reach

Specifications:

  • Length: 61 cm
  • Sponge is made of non-irritating polyfoam
  • Wire is rust and corrosion resistant
  • handle made from reinforced quality plastic

Before you buy

  • Check the weight rating. Pick a safe working load comfortably above the user's weight.
  • Measure the space. Doorways, shower recesses and the gap beside the toilet decide what fits — use the measuring guide in Tools.
  • Renting? Anything fixed to a wall needs the landlord's OK in writing.
  • Funded? Keep the invoice — it is claim-ready for NDIS, DVA and Home Care Package. Check with your plan manager.
