The Air Chair from Cobalt Health, also known as ‘Princess Chair’, is designed for individuals with mobility challenges who are confined to a chair for a longer period of time.

Our Air Chair is an aged care recliner chair for elderly or individuals with special needs, that provides supportive seating for long-term pressure relief. It is the perfect solution for in-home care and care facility settings.

The Air Chair Classic by Cobalt Health - also known as a Princess Chair - has been designed to improve comfort and redistribute pressure when you're seated, fully adjustable with air cell system and foam to reduce pressure points.

We have a choice of blue or beige.

Due to O, H & S standards, we request to be notified of difficult delivery sites such as stairs, so we can provide appropriate resources. For difficult deliveries that incur additional resources, a surcharge may apply.

Who can use the Princess Chair for Adults?

Those who sit for prolonged periods of time, may be a risk of developing pressure sores and pressure-related tissue damage.

How does the Air Chair relieve pressure?

The air cell technology in the seat and backrest distributes the weight and pressure evenly without losing shape. It can be fully adjusted to the user’s weight and comfort. The built-in pumps automatically ensure the cushion inflates to the optimal pressure. The supportive foam allows for maximal immersion and support.

The built-in pumps can adjust the pressure for added comfort or refill the air cells. This Air Chair Classic has demonstrated over time to be the optimal solution for comfort and efficacy for pressure sore prevention and treatment.

How far does the Air Chair recline?

The Air Chair is recommended primarily for use as a chair. But thanks to its easy seat and leg tilt, it is capable to be completely adjusted to the patient’s positioning: from vertically to almost flat.

The variation in angle is also in the seat, foot & calf and provides the user with a change in orientation, enabling redistribution of pressure and increasing comfort and sitting tolerance. Perfect for long-term pressure relief!

Is the Air Chair easy to manoeuvre?

Thanks to its ergonomic and practical design, this Comfort Chair is safe and easy to manoeuvre. It features 4 large independently locking wheels. The mechanism allows electrical operation that facilitates positioning of the user. If you need to transfer the patient, the side panels and the head rest wings will swing down to give you easy access.

What material is the cover made of?

The 4-way stretch cover of the Air Chair is made of 100% nylon weave backing. The antibacterial cover is water resistant with a hydrostatic pressure of 2000mm per 24 hrs, preventing liquid to be absorbed in the chair. It also features a low moisture transmission rate of 500g per m2 per 24hrs.

All these features of the cover will keep the patient cool, dry and comfortable.

The polycarbonate polyurethane (PU) coating makes cleaning very easy.

Can I wash the cover?

The cover of the Air Chair can be wiped down with 75% ethyl alcohol or neutral PH7 detergent. Please allow the cover to dry before use or storage.

The cover can also be machine washed at 95°C, to a low to medium spin speed and then hang or dry flat.

Is the Air Chair fire resistant?

The Air Chair Classic from Cobalt Health has been tested to conform to the standard CAL117 thanks to the flame-retardant cover and foam.
