What is the Dual Handle Leg Lifter from Homecraft?

The Dual Handle Leg Lifter from Homecraft is an easy tool that enables the user to move a stiff or immobile leg in/out of bed, in/out of a wheelchair, on a footstool or getting into/out of a car etc. Its unique, two-handled design makes it much easier to use and is ideal for people who find it difficult to lift their leg with only one hand.

The Leg Lifter is made from a reinforced webbing strap with a semi-rigid insert. This Leg Lifter is designed with two handles making it easier for those who can not lift their leg with one hand. It provides optimal control when moving the leg without having to bend.

The two upper loops fit around both of the user's hands and wrists for a better and safer grip, while the lower loop slides over the foot to give control when lifting the leg.

This device is ideal as mobility assistance for elderly, users in a wheelchair or those with limited leg function. It can also be used as effective physical therapy equipment to increase mobility after hip or knee replacement, foot surgery or other leg injuries.

Instructions for operating the mobility aid:

  • Loop the Leg Lifter over the foot. The semi-rigid insert allows the user to do this without having to bend forward
  • Then, while holding the handles, the user can support the movement of the leg and the foot.
  • The Leg Lifter can also be used to support both legs in one movement. Simply loop the Leg Lifter over one foot, and then cross that leg under the other.
