What are the Dementia Door Stickers?

The Door Stickers from BetterLiving are realistic, full-sized photographic door murals used to camouflage doors or doorways. They can be seen as optical illusions, also known as Trompe L'Oeuil. These door stickers prevent those living with dementia from entering an area where they might be at risk: f.i. front door, basement, attic, garage or utility room. These are perfect dementia solutions for at home, in aged care facilities or nursing homes.

How can door murals help?

For many people diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer's, seeking to leave home or walking down a dangerous flight of stairs – perhaps in the middle of the night – can be a major concern.

These door stickers are designed for:

  • Camouflage Hazardous Areas: they hide doors that patients are not supposed to get in to, like stairways or exits. The door stickers make the 'old' doors seem to ‘disappear’.
  • Relief of anxiety, confusion and frustration: the door sticker turns the door into home-like familiar area's that will provide them security.

How to apply the door mural?

The door murals are self-adhesive and can be trimmed to fit most doors. Each mural measures 2.1 metres tall by 0.9 metres wide.

The self-adhesive vinyl will not rip or tear and can be removed and reinstalled as often as you like.
