Key benefits

  • Precise stabilisation for acute wrist injuries
  • Half cast design protects against flexion
  • Anatomical fit for comfortable extended support
  • Comes in a range of sizes for left or right hand
The Push Med wrist splint is a hand and wrist support that offers precise wrist stabilisation to prevent unwanted joint movement during recovery. A half cast design supports the palm of the hand to protect against flexion and hold the wrist in a less stressful position. People managing acute wrist injuries, such as fractures or sprains, can wear the Push Med Wrist Splint while ligaments and bone heal. The splint comes in a range of sizes for the left or right hand.

What is the Push Med wrist splint?

The Wrist Splint by Push Med has been designed to allow the wrist joint to heal, without restricting the functionality of the hand.

The wrist brace offers optimal protection, compression and support for painful, swollen or weak wrists.

The Push Med Wrist Splint can be easily fitted with one hand and comes with an easy to apply non-elastic elastic band to optimise compression.

What are the characteristics of the Push Med Wrist Splint?

The Push Med Wrist Splint allows the joint to rest comfortably in a functional position without limiting hand movement, delivering essential support and stability for recovery of a wrist injury and relief of pain.

A non-elastic band ensures the wrist splint closely follows the wrist joint. It extends from the palm of the hand to high in the wrist for optimal stabilisation.

This design of the Push Med wrist splint limits palmar flexion while keeping the hand in a functional position.

The Wrist Splint by Push Med is made with padded zones around the vulnerable areas of the wrist. Compression levels can be adjusted to fit your needs thanks to an easy to apply band.

The wrist brace is made from Sympress material, which makes the inside feel soft and comfortable, whilst keeping the skin dry.

What are the indications of use of the wrist splint by Push Med?

The wrist splint by Push Med is especially suited for the treatment of:

  • Moderate strained or sprained wrist injuries, complaints of the wrist extensors
  • Moderate to severe arthritis conditions
  • Nerve pain
  • Post operative recovery
  • Soreness from repetitive strain injuries (RSI) or overuse symptoms

This splint for wrist brace can also be used for:

  • Post fracture
  • Post surgical recovery

It provides the right combination of immobilisation and support to allow the healing process of the wrist.

Features of the wrist splint

  • Supportive and protective wrist brace
  • Circular, non-elastic connection ensures the splint contours to the wrist’s natural shape for personalised support.
  • Anatomical fit for comfortable support
  • Limits palmary or foward flexion
  • Ideal support and protection for a number of wrist strains and injuries
  • Comes in a range of sizes, for left and right hand

What is a wrist splint used for?

A wrist splint is used to immobilize and support the wrist, reducing pain and promoting healing after injuries like sprains, fractures, or conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.

Why would you wear a wrist splint?

You would wear a wrist splint to relieve pressure, reduce swelling, stabilize the wrist joint, and prevent further strain or injury.

What is the difference between a wrist brace and a splint?

A wrist brace provides light support and flexibility for mild injuries, while a wrist splint offers more rigid support, limiting movement to ensure proper healing.

How many hours should I wear a wrist splint?

You should wear a wrist splint as advised by your doctor, typically 4 to 8 hours a day or as needed, depending on your condition.

Is it OK to sleep with a wrist splint?

Yes, sleeping with a wrist splint is often recommended for conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome to prevent wrist bending and alleviate symptoms.

What is the difference between a splint and a cast?

A splint is flexible and can be adjusted, used for stabilizing injuries, while a cast is rigid, fully encasing the injured area for complete immobilization.

Can you walk on a splint?

If the splint is for a lower limb, walking is possible but may require additional support like crutches. Always follow your doctor’s guidance.

Can I remove my splint to shower?

Yes, most splints can be removed for showering, but always confirm with your doctor to avoid disrupting the healing process.

Is cast better than surgery?

A cast is a less invasive option for treatment, but surgery may be necessary for severe or complex injuries. The best option depends on the specific injury and individual condition.

Before you buy

  • Check the weight rating. Pick a safe working load comfortably above the user's weight.
  • Measure the space. Doorways, shower recesses and the gap beside the toilet decide what fits — use the measuring guide in Tools.
  • Renting? Anything fixed to a wall needs the landlord's OK in writing.
  • Funded? Keep the invoice — it is claim-ready for NDIS, DVA and Home Care Package. Check with your plan manager.
